Prof. Ben. Q. Honyenuga is the current Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of the University, responsible for organising and conducting the academic, financial and administrative businesses of the University in accordance with the Statutes and decisions of Council and Academic Board. The Vice-Chancellor is also the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the University. The Vice-Chancellor has overall authority over the academic, financial and administrative staff of the University. The Vice-Chancellor advises Council and the Academic Board on all matters affecting policy, finance and administration of the University. The Vice-Chancellor has unrestricted right of attendance and speech at all meetings of Council and of all University bodies.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat assists the Vice-Chancellor to organize and conduct all academic, financial, administrative and general operations of the University in accordance with the Statutes and policy directives of the Governing Council and Academic Board. Aside the general responsibility of assisting the Vice-Chancellor in the performance of his duties, the Secretariat coordinates activities of all other offices in the University. The Secretariat further keeps a keen eye on the academic calendar and all other schedules of the Vice-Chancellor for his attention and necessary actions.
